DAY 1
DUTCH St. Maarten
After arriving at the international airport, based on the Dutch side of St. Maarten, take a taxi to meet your yacht and crew. A safety briefing followed by a walk-through of your luxury charter yacht leaves you free to settle in and enjoy a light lunch on board.
The Captain will need your passports to do a customs clearance before the yacht can leave the lagoon via a drawbridge. Then it is to the anchorage where you can enjoy a swim in the warm sea and witness a spectacular sunset.
DAY 2
ANGUILLA
After a hearty breakfast, the sails are hoisted and you begin your day sitting on the foredeck and soaking up the sun in the cool tradewinds. After rounding the tip of the island, you see the beautiful island of Anguilla appear on the horizon. Your Captain drops anchor and everyone takes a ride ashore in the tender for the Customs check-in.
Take a taxi tour around the island and visit some of the historical sites, including old rum distilleries and famous resorts, or enjoy lively Jazz by local musicians. Spend the afternoon snorkeling or relaxing onboard with a good book.
DAY 3
Anguilla
Trawl the fishing lines and see what bites as you sail over to little outlying deserted islands like Dog Island, Prickly Pear, and Sandy Island.
This is a wonderful snorkeling spot with crystal-clear water and vibrantly colored reefs. After lunch, you can spend some time lazing on the beach or exploring nearby rocky islands. This is a great place to enjoy some wakeboarding, kneeboarding, or paddle boarding and the shallow waters are ideal for the children to play and build sandcastles. Your captain hoists the sails and is ready to enjoy a leisurely sail over to Crocus Bay. Your crew prepares some cocktails for you to take to the tiny beach at sunset.
DAY 4
FRENCH St. Martin
After the morning at Maundays Bay or Rendezvous Bay on the southern side of Anguilla a short sail to Marigot on the French side of St. Martin. Browse the street markets of Marigot.
From this beautiful Capital of St. Martin, you can take a taxi to Paradise Peak. This is a hiking trail taking you to breathtaking views of surrounding islands as well. Fort Louis is within walking distance from the marina for a great visit. For the night anchorage, the captain will take a short motor to the nearby Grand Case.
DAY 5
TINTAMARRE AND ILE FOURCHUE
In the very French village of Grand Case, you can enjoy a fabulous authentic French dinner ashore and dance the night away in one of the clubs lining the streets of this popular little town.
After a lazy morning at anchor with a Yoga session on the foredeck or a bit of paddle boarding, you head over to the nearby island of Tintamarre, where another beautiful beach awaits. Here you can dig out some mud from the pools and smear it all over your body. Wait for it to dry in the warm sun and then run into the ocean to wash it off. After lunch onboard, you sail onward to the extinct volcanic caldera of Ile Fourchue.
DAY 6
ST. BARTS
Swim in or take the tender ashore to explore this unique Caribbean island. With the black sand beach and arid landscape it feels like you may have arrived on another planet. This island is halfway between St. Maarten and St. Barts and is dry and rocky with some steep hills and craggy peaks. The highest point is about 33ft above sea level. The only inhabitants are some goats. The Island is privately owned.
A nearby dive site offers good snorkeling and some of the best SCUBA diving in the Caribbean boasting a huge variety of fish, eagle rays, and beautiful coral. Hike to the peaks and enjoy 360° views of the surrounding islands and of course, your private charter yacht anchored way below. For the night a short motor sail to Gustavia.
DAY 7
St. Barts
In Gustavia, you can stroll along the very European harbor with boutique shops and French cafes while your Captain clears the boat in with the Customs House. The town certainly shows off some of that fascinating history. Among its standout heritage sites are the ruins of three forts from the Swedish era, built to protect the strategic Gustavia Harbor. Other historical landmarks include the Wall House, which is now a fine municipal museum. Island tours are available here.
Later the yacht moves to the nearby bay of Anse de Colombier. This is a very pretty anchorage where you can hike from one beach to another along a scenic trail.
DAY 8
DUTCH ST MAARTEN
Spend the morning snorkeling the nearby reefs before your Caribbean lunch onboard. It is then time to sail downwind to St. Maarten. This will be a little longer sail, with plenty of time to relax in the sun. Arrive in Phillipsburg, which is a cruise ship destination. Take in the colorful sites of the busy streets lined with duty-free shopping and souvenirs.
After about an hour’s sail, timed perfectly, you pass through the drawbridge. Here you will pass by the yacht club where envious patrons look as yachts return to the lagoon. Tonight you can choose to stay onboard or venture out to explore the great restaurants, casinos, and clubs of Simpson Bay.
